Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport – Terminal 3

Terminal 3 of Sydney Airport is the main hub for Qantas and QantasLink, who moved their operations from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3. The terminal hosts regional and local flights within the country.

It used to be also the main terminal of Trans Australia Airlines.

It is located in the east section of the airport facilities like Terminal 2.

On 1999, Terminal 3 extension and redesign works were completed, giving an extra 80,000 square metres to the existing surface. 

It has 14 parking bays, including dual bridges. 

For Qantas Airlines customers, hosts the Qantas Club Lounge, a business class and a chairman lounge. 

Transport between terminals

You can get from domestic to international terminals within a short ride. Even though, there are available several means of transport to make it easy to transfer between them.

Terminal 2 and 3 are at a short distance walk (no longer than 7 minutes), while Terminal 1 is slightly far from them.

To transfer between International Terminal to Domestic Terminals, there are the following means of transport available:

- Airport Link Train: Transfer between T1, T2 and T3. Opening hours: 05:00 am to 00:00 am, every 2 minutes. Fare is $5.00.

- T-Bus: Shuttle buses between T1 and T2. The ride takes 10 minutes. Fare is $5.50.

- P-Bus: Transfer to T2, T3 and to the long-term parking. 

- Taxi: Transfer between T1, T2 and T3. Total ride time is 10 minutes. Fare is between $8.00 and $12.00. 

Domestic airlines transfers:

- Qantas Seamless Transfer: Between Qantas and International flights.

- Virgin Blue Seamless Transfer: Between Virgin Blue & Pacific Blue, Polynesian Blue and Virgin Australia flights. 


Sydney Airport Terminal 3 has 2 levels: 

- Main floor: Arrivals, hosting the Arrivals Hall, Baggage claim 1 to 5, information counter, car rental counters, restaurants and cafés, currency exchange, ATMs and access to railway network and a couple of valet parking: One for Qantas and the other one the current valet parking. 

- Upper floor: Departures, hosting the Departures Hall, Qantas lounge and meeting rooms, the Heritage Museum, Qantas International Transfers and Qantas Customer Service Desk.


In Terminal 3 exclusively operates Qantas Airlines and QantasLink, since it is their hub.

As the Qantas Airlines terminal, on the upper level of Terminal 3, next to gate 13, there is the Heritage Museum, dedicated to Qantas and its more than 90 years of service, giving to passengers a retrospective of their evolution as an airline. 

Among the Heritage Collection, there is also an observing deck, where plane spotters and everyone who wish can get a general view of the airport’s apron.
