Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport – Terminal 2

Along with Terminal 3, Sydney Airport Terminal 2 serves domestic and regional flights, being a hub of Virgin Australia and Jetstar Airways.

It is located at the north east section. In the past, it used to be Ansett Australia domestic hub, since its collapse on the early 00s. 

Major improving works were done in Terminal 2 to extend and built a new concourse (concourse A) and the food court as well. 

Find concourses A and B within the terminal. 

Through Terminal 2 you can direct access to the Train Station and also to the other domestic terminal, Terminal 3. 

Along with Terminal 3, hosts over 46 domestic flights to various destination within the country. 

Other Terminals

There is a fourth passenger terminal at the east of Terminal 2, which was the Domestic Express Terminal, where Regional Express Airlines, Virgin Blue and Impulse Airlines low-cost carriers operated. This Terminal was closed along with the collapse of Ansett Australia Airlines. 

Nowadays is used as a cargo terminal. 

Transport between terminals

You can get from domestic to international terminals within a short ride. Even though, there are available several means of transport to make it easy to transfer between them. 

Terminal 2 and 3 are at a short distance walk (no longer than 7 minutes), while Terminal 1 is slightly far from them.

To transfer between International Terminal to Domestic Terminals, there are the following means of transport available:

- Airport Link Train: Transfer between T1, T2 and T3. Opening hours: 05:00 am to 00:00 am, every 2 minutes. Fare is $5.00.

- T-Bus: Shuttle buses between T1 and T2. The ride takes 10 minutes. Fare is $5.50. 

- P-Bus: Transfer to T2, T3 and to the long-term parking. 

- Taxi: Transfer between T1, T2 and T3. Total ride time is 10 minutes. Fare is between $8.00 and $12.00. 

Domestic airlines transfers:

- Qantas Seamless Transfer: Between Qantas and International flights.

- Virgin Blue Seamless Transfer: Between Virgin Blue & Pacific Blue, Polynesian Blue and Virgin Australia flights. 


Sydney Airport Domestic Terminal 2 is split in two separated levels: 

- Arrivals Hall: Services and amenities offered: Food court, retail stores, pharmacy, entertainment, car rental desk and baggage carousels 1 to 6. 

- Departures Hall: It is in the upper check-in and security area. Virgin, JetBlue, Tiger Tex, JetGo and JetStar have in this level their ticket desks and check-in facilities.

Services offered: Food courts, retail and other shops, and access to Concourse A (with 31-48 gates) and Concourse B (with 49-59 gates).
